Louisiana bills itself as a year-round "Sportsman's Paradise" for its diverse array of outdoor recreational opportunities that include deep-sea fishing, hunting, biking, and hiking. This reflects a 54 percent drop over last month in the amount of Louisiana land and property for sale. Of the 64 counties in the state, Saint Tammany Parish had the most land and farms for sale. There were 1,127 acres of sold land in Louisiana recorded in April 2019 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a 60 percent decrease in sales activity over the previous month, with a combined land value of $5 million for all property and land sold in the state. Catahoula and Rapides Parish recorded the most land sales recently in the state. In terms of its size, Louisiana is the country's 31st-largest state, covering an area of 51,843 square miles (33 million acres). Game species to be found on land for sale in Louisiana include whitetail deer, turkey, ducks, dove, and hog. Anglers can enjoy casting for catfish and bass.
